What I want: I would love it if someone wrote a fic for A/G that was based on Doctor who 6x07, so A/G would be Amy and Rory, Merlin would be the Doctor and River could be I don't know.... a new character... that is A/G's kid!

I had an idea for this - the only trouble is that it would be very plotty to work out because, obviously, 6x07 was very plotty and there are some aspects that would need to be translated to Merlin.

On the other hand a shorter fic would be easier and less confusing to pull off.

It's up to you Sophie and what you want to do. You could write a shorter fic for it and then later on if you wanted you could continue with it.

The ideas I have really exist in my fanon head, lol! However a shorter fic is pretty do-able but it would have to focus on one particular aspect of A Good Man Goes to War rather than a replay of all the plot devices with the Merlin characters.

For example the idea of the child of Arthur and Gwen being born but then being stolen by someone in order than she might be turned into a weapon to fight Merlin.

Exactly what I was looking for actually! In my head, it's Morgana (possibly with the help of Morgause and Mordred) who takes the child to be turned into a weapon against Merlin. Morgana, in my head, has a dream where A/G have a child and then sees that Merlin after all has magic. Of course she already hates Merlin but to find out that he lied to her. Well pretty much this will make Morgana want to get Merlin back and in a big way. I mean she could kill two birds with one stone. Kill Merlin and make sure that she can get the throne. And I would explain that part but its all complicated and just a real jumble in my mind!

I think in my head A/G kid also has magic and I thought that maybe she or he could have the ability to time travel, so she could kill Merlin at a certain point in time, therefore leaving it open for Morgana to kill Arthur.

LOL I have no idea if what I'm saying is going to confuse you. Pretty much this plot idea has been in my mind since I watched A Good Man Goes to War! I would write it myself but its too plotty for me, plus I have to do my reel-merlin which I'm way behind in.

See, I picture it very differently.

This is where my head-canon kicks in but I always imagined that it would be Morgause alone who steals Arthur and Gwen's child, almost certainly a daughter, in a bid to turn her into a weapon to fight Mordred. I think that Morgana will almost certainly "dump" Morgause once Mordred turns up again, and no doubt Mordred will ensure it's just him and Morgana, no Morgause trying to control things from behind the scenes.

Of course this all lies in the head-canon that I have that Morgause is actually Igraine's daughter and therefore would have an invested interested in her 'niece' in her desire to take her and mould her. Plus it also explains to me why the daughter might have magic; in my terrible head-canon magic decends through the female line, skipping off the boys.

IDK, I just hate the idea of Morgana being anywhere near a child of Arthur/Gwen, not least because I think Morgana's first reaction would be to kill her -- not turn her into a weapon to fight Merlin. She's not really smart enough to think of that, and seeing as Morgana wants the throne for herself, this would be her own niece and rival. She'd just want to kill her. Morgause on the other hand is smart enough to think of the weapon idea and probably would be looking for any old heir she can get her hands on.

Hey, if you bring time travelling into it then you could have - and try not to let this frazzle your brain - Mordred be revealed to be Merlin and Morgana's son, from a neat trick that she plays on Merlin (I've told you this idea before) thus making Mordred not only an heir to the throne but a dragonlord. He is the weapon against Arthur AND Merlin. So in retaliation Morgause steals Arthur and Gwen's daughter to turn her into a weapon to bring Mordred down. She'll be Hope in an endless, bitter war. ;)

I told you my head canon was a bit too complicated. :P

After reading this I'm all for your head!canon over mine!

Seriously Morgause is smart to come up with that kind of plan, while Morgana tends to act more on her feelings and emotions (like in 3x05 when she wanted to just kill Uther then and there).

Also it would fit with Moraguse being Arthur's half sister too because it would explain why Morgause hates Uther so much.

LOL about Merlin and Morgana being Mordred's parents, I remember Jen saying that she wanted that to happen and I agree! I love that idea!

Moreover if you have the ability for people to go backwards in time in this show then it would explain how Mordred got to the past the grow up in a different time frame to Merlin and Morgana. It would also enable the daughter of Arthur and Gwen to turn up in their present an older child and tell them who she is.

But my idea is very complicated at would take far too long to set up and write down in the time. :P

Yeah it is a bit. I think that the writers at DW must sometimes get confused too.

I'm still at a loss about what the 'Silence' is about? There didn't really clear that up. i'm happy we know who River is now, but there are still things I'm dying to know!

So I'm thinking this fic would have to focus on one particular aspect of the AGMGTW plotline rather than knatter on and on about stuff.

That's fair. It's probably going to be quite a short fic, and I did say that $5 will get you 1,000 or under. Is that OK with you? :)

Definately, not least because I struggle to stay under 1,000. As you know "Plotty" is my middle name. Well, actually it's "Louisa" but even when I'm writing a short fic I usually can write 2,000 happily.

And as you know I had a few ideas about this one, and I've found a way to scale it down. A bit.

It would basically be the same idea but I was thinking that maybe the daughter has magic because of Arthur's birth. He was born of magic, so it would make sense if magic was what held him together, It's inside him but he can't use it or do anything with it. However this daughter will have been born naturally, so where does all the magic go?

It will save me having to go deep into Arthur's family tree to come up with a reason for why he might have a daughter with magic.

Morgause would still be kidnapping her to turn into a weapon, possibly to bring down Uther - would you mind if Uther was still alive, or would you like him dead - as well as others. She basically just wants this child for revenge on all who wronged her...

I'm giving away the plot, aren't it? :p Nevermind, what do you think?

I've always had the image in my head that Arthur and Gwen would have a daughter who would have magic! So its like you've read my mind.

Although in my head she is more of a weapon against Merlin but I don't mind it being Uther (and him being alive) in this fic because I'm loving the idea. Also I have always wanted Uther to be alive when Arthur became King and marries Gwen and they have their first child. I would love Uther to have a moment where he realises that he regrets everything that he did. Well, he regrets his war against magic and his stance against Arthur marrying Gwen when he realises how great A/G would be for Camelot and how much of what he has done has effected his children, especially Arthur and Camelot.

Sure, Uther has done truly evil things, but man I would love to see AH to just completely break down with so much regret and sadness and I would love for him to apologize to Arthur and others. That would truly be a magnificent moment! And if it doesn't happen on the show then I will write it!
